What is White Space and Why it’s Important
By Bobby Beck
White space is a powerful tool for designers but it is also commonly misunderstood.
What is White Space?
White Space, sometimes referred to as Negative space, is the “unmarked space around or between the content of a design or image.” Essentially, it’s any space in a design between the elements (text, photos, etc.).
While it is often called white space, that doesn’t necessarily mean the space needs to be white, or even solid in color for that matter. It can contain gradients, patterns, or background objects.

Ways to Increase your Customer Touch Points
How do you communicate with your customers?
It’s important to use strategic customer touch points to communicate and stay in touch with your customers. Look for ways to provide a value to your customers. Instead of just calling on a customer to just go in and say hello, provide them with relevant research in their industry. As they see you as adding more value for their business they will trust you and be more open to your suggestions on services you can provide them with. Keep them in touch with the products or services you provide that will help their business and not just something you are trying to sell.

QR Codes: To Scan or Not to Scan
By Allison Rubacky Kahn
Have you seen these crazy looking boxes lately? They are not just in the Sunday paper, mail inserts, or at stores for fun. They are called QR Codes and they are the next generation of online advertising. These little boxes connect the consumer from a Point of Purchase directly to the product’s website in seconds. A Point of Purchase is a form of signage in a store that draws the consumer to a particular product and gets them interested. The signage may have information about the product, but lately they can also have a QR Code on them.
Online Directory Listings
by Monte Brackett
Getting customers to contact you as they use the various online directories will be extremely important in adding revenue to your bottom line as a business. You may be aware that Google, Yahoo and Bing account for more than 90% of all online searches, but what you may not know is that more than 40% of those searches have a local intent. Of those searches with local intent per TMP Directional Marketing, 82% will follow up with a local store visit or a local phone call which is why local managed business listings is critical.
