A Timeline of Memories—The Facebook Revolution

Notice the timeline on the right-hand side of the screen. If you click on a year, you will see all activity that took place that year on your facebook.
We all have memories. We all love to document our memories—in photos, letters, notes, stories. Why should we feel any different with our memories on Facebook? I remember the day I signed up for “The Facebook” (the domain was still www.thefacebook.com back then). It was November of 2004, my freshman year of college. I was young, naïve, and was told by a girlfriend that I needed to sign up because everyone was on it. So I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the website, created a profile, and uploaded a photo. Ever since that day, I don’t think I have gone more than a week without signing onto my Facebook account.

The Future of Fast Food: Mobile Menus
Creative Marketing for Businesses Using Mobile Phones
Recently my husband and I took a vacation to the Delaware beaches. The drive is about 8 hours, so when we were driving home from the trip it was getting close to dinner time. We just happened to be driving home on our first wedding anniversary, so we decided to do sushi takeout since we were tired and didn’t feel like going out but still wanted to do something special and fun.

Wilton: Poor Marketing Strategy
I recently signed up for a Wilton brand cake decorating class at a local Michael’s store. I was so excited to start that I went out and immediately purchased all necessary supplies for the class that were on my class supply list. I was very prepared for my first night and went in with a big grin on my face, ready to learn how to decorate an awesome cake.

Facebook’s “Awesome” Announcement
Facebook made an “awesome” announcement yesterday that was awaited by many across the nation. As many already know, Google has created their own social media site called Google+. Google+ is similar to Facebook in many ways because you have a profile and friends that you can add. However, there are also many differences. The biggest and most obvious difference to everyone, including Mark Zuckerberg, was the video chat and group chat features, or as many like to call face time, that Google+ offers.

The Grateful Dead- Is their idea of marketing dead?
By Allison Kahn
I read an article this week in Deliver , A Magazine for Marketers, about the band Grateful Dead’s unconventional marketing philosophy
and how it set them apart from the rest during their 3-decade era. David Meerman Scott, co-author of Marketing Lessons from the Grateful Dead: What Every Business Can Learn from the Most Iconic Band in History, said “What the band did was create true partnerships with fans” explaining that the band did things differently—and successfully.
