Social Media FAQs

I have collected a few of the frequently asked questions about social media that we receive here at Princeton Marketing. There are many others that we have received but for now these are some of the most common. Have a question about social media that I didn’t touch on today? Post your question in the comment box of this blog and I’ll be in contact with you asap!

Social Media FAQs

We’re a B2B company. Do we need to be on Facebook?

We get this question a lot. It depends on your company. Are you able to handle the commitment? If so, then it’s probably best that you do. Even if you are a B2B company, you can still benefit from a presence on Facebook. If anything, it is another link back to your website and takes up a space on the search engine results.

What are Hashtags?

For those who have never even heard of the term hashtags, they are referring to the #ThingsThatLookLikeThis on Twitter. Hashtags are a way to, in essence, tag your Tweet. If someone types in that hashtag into the Twitter search bar, your tweet will appear. You can easily research trending hashtags on websites such as Hashtags.org and What the Trend. Hashtags are also commonly used on the new photo sharing social app, Instagram.

How can I use Pinterest for my business?

Pinterest has become increasingly popular for businesses to have a presence on. It’s one more place for your business to be online, one more link back to your website, and one more place to show your company’s interests in a less-formal environment. For Pinterest, focus on things your company loves and things that inspire the company. You can do a bit of self-promotion, but it should mainly be sharing the things that inspire your company to be different. Organize your different interests, topics, and categories into different pin boards.

How often should I use our Pinterest business account?

There is a rule of thumb with Pinterest—spread your pins out. Don’t clog up everyone’s Pinterest feeds with 200 pins in one hour’s time. I have broken this rule before, but as soon as I realized what I was doing, I stopped. My best advice for using Pinterest is limit yourself to about 15 minutes a day on but be sure to visit the site almost every day.

I can’t manage all of my business’s social media sites. What can I do?

Hire someone to manage them for you! Princeton Marketing will work with you to develop a custom social media calendar with various topics and ideas. We can manage it 100% of the time for you or we can work collaboratively with you, whatever your preference. Let us know if you’re interested!
